Get Ready!!!

May 25, 2015
Hola Mamacita!!!
Haha so I forgot the best part of my bike crash story! We had a miracle! I almost forgot about it in the midst of all the funniness! So while we were biking, I saw a hispanic on the side of the road that was working for a white guy at his house. As we passed, I said, "Hola!" Then after we crashed, we were crossing an intersection when a guy in a green van says, "Hola! Como estan?" It was the hispanic that I said Hola to before!!! He said he wanted to talk with us, so he pulled over in a parking lot and we walked over and started talking to him about the gospel! It was super awesome and he seemed pretty interested! The only problem is that he lives in Rancho, but that's ok because we got all his info! We probably wouldn't have seen him again if I hadn't crashed!
I haven't talked to the Burgoyne's yet, but that's because we have interviews this week and I wanted to ask President Jardine before I do it. Sounds good, right? We're not doing anything too special for Memorial Day... we're going to Deseret Book, though! That should be fun! :P
We've been making Sis Schow a bunch of cookies this week, which is super dangerous because I think I'm addicted to cookies. :P she ate the last one and then she left the note on the plate that said, "No more cookies! Boo hoo!" Haha she is so funny! I love her!
Sis Schow was talking on the phone on Friday and it turns out that it was Hna Flores! She went home on Thursday. It made me super sad, but super happy because I know that that was probably the best thing for her and she came up with that decision on her own and with the help of the Lord.
Our miracle investigator, Ramiro, that we found about a week and a half ago is pretty awesome! He's the one that contacted us in an apartment complex. We've been bringing one of our members, Eusebio, to all of his lessons and it has been super great! Ramiro is so excited to learn! He doesn't have a car, but before we even invited him to come to church, he asked if Eusebio had a car and then asked if he could take him to church! What! Who does that?! None of my investigators have ever done that! We taught him about the Book of Mormon and he said, "You know how there are manuals to fix your car, well this is like a manual on how to live your life!? Ya! You got it Ramiro!
Last week, right before one of our lessons, he called and left a message. I listened to it, but there was a bunch of noise so I couldn't understand it. So I gave it to Hna Burke and she said it was Ramiro cancelling on us. Aww man! We were pretty bummed. The next morning we called him and he asked, "Where were you guys?! You didn't come?" I listened to the message again and it turns out that he was asking us what we wanted him to study before we came by because he forgot! What! We were so happy!
He wasn't able to come to church this week because of work, which scares me A LOT! Latinos are hard workers and they will work everyday, 10 hours a day if they need to. But we invited him to be baptized on the 27th of June and he accepted!!! we are really praying hard for him, both gratitude and strength from the Lord, because he is a miracle!
Haha it's sooo cute! Whenever we talk to Sis Schow about Ramiro, she always says "RRRRRRRRRamiro!" Haha she's had hermanas in her house for 6 years, she's pretty good at rolling her Rs :P

Para Siempre Dios este con Vos,

Con Amor,

Hermana Twitchell

PS sorry I don't have pictures! I forgot my camera at our house!

Awww.... a pole

Hola Mamacita!
About the Burgoynes, I'm pretty sure it's fine, I could send them an email or something with my phone # and I could talk to them then. I got a wedding announcement from Emily and a graduation announcement from Esther, so that's pretty cool! You can send me Cedric's address, when is he going home?

Haha so this week was pretty crazy, but super great! So last Sunday, our Zone Leaders texted us and said that the wanted to commit the zone to bike at least twice a week. Challenge accepted! On Monday night after P-day, Hna. Burke and I wanted to start out strong with that commitment and bike to one of our appointments. Well it turns out that the bike I was riding had two flat tires so we rode over to the other Hermana's house and tried to pump it. Well the pump was broken. So we called the ZLs to ask if they could take our bikes home, we called the APs to see if they could bring my bike here from south Sac and we got a ride home from a member. :P The ZLs were nice enough to fill the bike with air so that we wouldn't have any more trouble with. On Tuesday we went out to the car to head out to a lunch appointment. Our car died (we have no idea why), so we biked 5 miles to get to our appointment. The APs said they were coming by with the bike at 2 and we also asked if they could jump our car. So we started biking back. About half through our journey I hit a curb wrong, and trying to miss a parked car I swerved to the right and I ran into a sign :P (as seen in the picture). Haha it was pretty funny. I jumped back up, ready to go! and I broke the bike... Aww man! So we were on foot the rest of the way home while the APs were waiting for us with my bike and a jumper cable box-thing.
Later during the week, we took the bike to someone that fixes up the mission's bikes and now we have it working great! I'm hoping this week we will ride smoothly! Haha
We also went on exchanges! with the Hermanas in North Sac and I got to go there again! I was a lot of fun. When I got home the night before I was really tired, so we just planned and did the usual routine for going to bed. The next morning I walked in the kitchen and saw Sister Schow. I said, "Sister Schow!" and she said, "SISTER TWITCHELL!" with her arms wide open for a hug. "Why didn't you come and talk to me last night?" Aww man! I completely forgot to say good night to sis. Schow! Haha she is so cute! She always makes me feel so loved!
Yesterday, we dropped our most progressing investigator, Brenda (see picture). Missionaries have been visiting her for 4 months and she still hasn't been able to come to church. Yesterday during sacrament meeting, Hna Burke and I prayerfully came to the decision that we needed to let her go. It was very hard and many tears were shed, but we know that it was the right thing to do. She will come be baptized one day I know it!

We have been finding a lot of new people to teach and we are soooo excited!! The Lord has blessed us so much!!! We might not see a baptism this transfer, but our efforts are not wasted! I love this work! even though at times it can be very hard. The fruits of our efforts and the joy of all the blessings surpasses all pain we might ever feel.

Back together Again!!!

Hola Mamacita!
Yep Hna Burke and I are back together again! Haha I thought we would never be back together because we have too much fun! Haha well the Lord works in mysterious ways and we are going to work East Sac and Carmichael like no one's ever done before!! Haha well I don't know... We're working really hard though :P
This week we have been working hard and seeing tons of miracles!

This week has been pretty great! It's been a while since I have been able to get out, work, and stay working. When Hna. Burke and I come home each night we are exhausted! but we are so happy because we know that we tried the best we could. It feels so great to get out and work and I have seen quite a few miracles come out of this week. A few days ago we were contacting in an apartment complex and a man opens his door and asks, "Hey! can I get one of your cards?" He then walked over and said that he was a less active member that was interested in coming back to church. We took down his information and sent it to the English Elders that are over that area. While we were doing that, another man came up to us and said that he too would be interested in coming to church. He moved into the apartment complex a week or so ago from Los Angeles and he said that he was meeting with missionaries there and was interested in taking the discussions here. His name was Ramiro and he was speaking Spanish to us. We are so very excited!! We got all of his information and set up an appointment for this week. The Lord really has been blessing us! I am so excited for the work this transfer!

We went to the Carmichael Park on Thursday where they had a food truck thing, it was super fun!

We've done quite a bit of tracking and contacting this week which has been super awesome!  You're going to hate me, but I don't have a lot of time, and I also told you a bunch of stuff while skyping so I'm not sure quite what to say :P but I do have pictures! haha

Con Amor,

Cinco del Mayo

Cinco Del Mayo
Hola Mamacita!
This week has actually been pretty awesome! We've been able to go out and work quite a bit so we've added some investigators! Not sure how solid they will be, but at least we have some Latinos to talk to and share more about the gospel!
Hna Flores still hasn't been feeling well, but she will be getting better, I know it! *

So transfers, oh yes. Well, by revelation from the Lord I have been called to stay here! Yay!!! Super excited! We're going to get a lot of work done in Carmichael!!! Woo!! Haha
I am so excited to continue living with Sister Schow! She is the sweetest person on the planet! She told me the other day, "I don't want you to be transferred." Awww Sister Schow! I'm so thankful to have her! She makes living with a member so great!

There are so many things that I love about being a MISSIONARY! What's not to LOVE!! I love the work, talking to people, learning about people, studying, area books (reading teaching records written by other missionaries can be SO funny! Haha), zone sports, meetings, etc. Off the top of my head, I think one of my favorite parts about being a missionary is reciting the first vision. No matter what whenever I start, "Vi una columna de luz, mas brillante que el sol..." the spirit is there! It is there and it is so strong! The peace is there and I can never deny the power that it brings through the spirit. I know it's true, every time I hear the 1st vision or recite it myself, the spirit always bears witness to me that it is true. I love giving the first lesson and I am so thankful that it is the first lesson and that we have the opportunity to share it the most!

Oh ya! and skyping information. So we are skyping at a member's house in one of the English wards with all 4 of us Hermanas :) So we are planning on skyping at 4ish on Sunday. So probably plan for 4 or 5 California time. :) I'll call you around that time for more details like who you're skyping and all that stuff. :)

By the way, our mission is getting iPads this month, 26th de Mayo. Oh NO! Haha it will be great! even if I like paper more than tablets :P

Para Siempre Dios este con Vos
Con Amor,
Hermana Twitchell
