Happy Ground Hog Day

February 2, 2015
Hola Mamacita!!!
Happy Groundhog's day!!!! Haha aww that's too bad that the groundhog didn't really see his shadow. Oh well! This week has been pretty good, it got up to the 80s and we had to use the AC in our car, oh man, the summer's going to be fun. I'm pretty sure that P-day will be on Tuesday because of transfers, so watch out on Tuesday! I did get the package. I was pretty excited about the groundhog droppings and I also got Avram's letter!! I was super excited to hear from him!
So this week has been really good as far as people having a desire to be baptized. We have 11 people on date for baptism and 4 of them are 8 year-olds. Just because we have them on date doesn't mean they're firm since we usually ask people to commit to baptism on the 1st or 2nd visit, but we're pretty hopeful for some baptisms this month :) We have started teaching a family that has 4 children, we haven't met the father yet, but the awesome thing is that they are all between the ages of 8 and 14. They are such a happy and excited family. We invited them to be baptized and the children jumped for joy. Then we looked to the mom and she said, "Well, I think we should all be baptized!" Hna. Bowen and I are SO happy for them and we are so excited to teach them more! 4 of our baptisms are coming from less active families who haven't gotten around to getting their children baptized, so we have really been working a lot with trying to activate families by preparing their children for baptism. It's been a lot of fun and we've really had to work on teaching the gospel as simply as we can so that the families and the 8 year-old kids and understand it. We've been doing games, object lessons, all that fun stuff!
Zone conference was super awesome!!! I was telling Hna. Bowen that I was so excited because as I'm becoming an older missionary, I'm starting to have friends outside of the zone. haha We got to eat with 6 other Hermanas and it was so much fun! With there only being 20 Hermanas in the mission, I'm betting some of them might become my future comps. We also had a musical number that was in 5 different languages that people in our mission use and we had an awesome training on how to use the scriptures better in our work. That's something I am definitely trying to work on, the scriptures really are powerful!
I love this work. Hna. Bowen and I have been trying to get to know the members better and to help them become more involved in the work and it is so great! At times, it can be really hard, but this work is pressing forward and the Lord is on our side! If we trust in him and make the Savior our rock, we cannot fall.

Para Siempre Dios este con Vos

Con Amor,

Hermana Twitchell
